Khloe Hui, LCSW
Hi there! I’m Khloe, a licensed clinical social worker and mental health therapist at Abide Therapy Services.
My approach to therapy is down-to-earth and collaborative, with an emphasis on working towards tangible goals; I want to see the people I work with make movement they feel good about. My intention is to support my clients to face challenges, develop skills to manage them, and uncover hope for what’s to come.
Experience
Prior to private practice, I worked over a decade in a few different community-based settings in Philadelphia and the greater Philadelphia area, providing services such as case management, outpatient psychotherapy to adults, and mental health counseling in a university setting. Over the years, I’ve grown in respect for the unique strengths and challenges that different cultural and faith backgrounds create for people and their communities, and I seek to honor this in my work with everyone I meet with. It is humbling and rewarding to sit with people at difficult points in their lives, and see them surprise themselves time and again as they find their way forward.
I specialize in the following:
Life transitions
Grief & loss
Depression & anxiety
Recovery services
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
Faith-based counseling and/ or religious trauma recovery therapy
Additionally, I provide:
Interracial couples counseling
Premarital counseling
Therapy is an investment and I want to honor your time and resources by staying intentional in our work together. Despite competency in other areas of need, I’ll be honest with you about my strongest areas of expertise and whether I think I would be a good fit as your therapist.
In my free time, I enjoy being outside as much as possible and spending time with my husband, wild kiddos, and affectionate kitty. Community is really important to me, so I’m regularly frequenting local coffee shops and parks with loved ones, soaking up sweet moments and conversations.
Education
I double-majored and graduated from Cairn University receiving a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a bachelor’s degree in Science in Bible. After working in the field a couple of years and narrowing down scope, I obtained my Master of Social Service (*MSW equivalent) from Bryn Mawr College. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Pennsylvania, and approach therapy from a trauma-informed perspective with emphasis on client strengths. In my work, I incorporate Systems Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and provide EMDR therapy; currently, I am nearing completion of path to certification in EMDR with EMDR Consulting, an EMDRIA-approved provider.
